Continuing our celebrations  during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year, West Pennard held its first ‘Secret Gardens’ on Sunday 24th July.

Ten residents of West Pennard opened their gardens to the public and we had amazing support from many villagers to ensure a successful event.

The sun shone and  many enjoyed a cream tea in the Village Hall or garden,  diligently maintained by the local garden group.    An estimated 180 visitors came from villages including: Pilton, Baltonsborough, West Bradley, Barton St David, Butleigh, Glastonbury, Street, Wells, West Horrington and Westbury.  We appreciated the generous comments and are considering if this will become a regular event on our village calendar.

Many thanks to Tesco and Burns The Bread for their support and everyone who assisted in the Village Hall on the day.  All proceeds go to the VH, local organisations and the Royal British Legion.
